What already sits on the slab
Many Barcelona galleries keep original ceramic or hydraulic-inspired tiles that are beautiful but hot at noon and slippery when wet. We assess whether to refresh joints, add outdoor rugs, or overlay with removable decking communities accept as non-permanent. Any overlay keeps access so autumn storms do not flood toward the living room threshold.
Heat, glare, and barefoot comfort
Light floors bounce Mediterranean sun into eyes and onto glass doors. Soft sand-toned mats and timber-look modules reduce glare without painting shared surfaces boards may forbid. Textured outdoor porcelain, composite boards, and washable rugs are chosen for mopping speed and resistance to plant soil spills. Dark charcoal absorbs heat; we reserve it for shaded zones or evenings-only use.

If tilers or carpenters are required for fixed work, contractor invoices remain separate and are paid in EUR directly to those trades. Material budgets for overlays on a standard gallery often fall between €350 and €1,200 depending on length and quality.
